This post is stocked full of videos, pictures, and graphs — and it’s well over Substack’s email length limit — so for the best experience, I recommend reading it in your browser 💘
For a while, opening TikTok (for me) meant scrolling through a stream of creators declaring “must-buy pieces for 2025” — usually followed by an Amazon-storefront-link-in-bio. (Sometimes I wonder if I should just sell my soul and crank out affiliate links so I can work on Style Analytics full time. Tempting.) Because of this, I wasn’t sure if I would write out a list of fashion trend predictions for 2025. While my notes app was *basically* this article already, the 2025 predictions/fashion/trends landscape felt painfully oversaturated.
However, after posting a video analysing the sentiment around 2025 trend forecasting videos, I noticed something surprising: people aren’t as tired of this type of content as I assumed. In fact, the response was overwhelmingly positive — even to my own prediction content (thank you!!).
For this post, I’ve used search data from the past six months, identifying growth patterns and projected future growth using tools like Glimpse and Pinterest Trends to forecast trends that will continue to grow in 2025.
One key theme emerged while writing: fashion right now feels actually fun (!!) and maximalist. Yes, “quiet luxury” and “old money” aesthetics are still around, but many of the trends gaining traction are playful, colourful, and textured — with many of the trends I talk about here being diy-able or (at the very least) thriftable.
With that in mind, here are 8 data-driven trends and aesthetics for 2025.
(Plus, a handful of trends that have not been proven by data — yet, but I will be keeping a close eye on them.)
